Honshu - 本州

'Main island / Main province'

Honshu, is the biggest and main island that makes up Japan.

It is divided in to smaller regions due to it's size:

Tohoku: The northern most part of the island, popular for skiing, seafood and hot springs. Aomori is locate din this region.

Kanto: The eastern side where you will find Tokyo and Mt. Fuji.

Chubu: The central section with The Japan Alps and Nagoya.

Kansai: The Western side slightly lower than Tokyo where you will find, Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto.

Chugoku: The area closest to Kyushu where you will find Hiroshima and Fukuoka.
