Aomori is the Northern most prefectural capital city on Honshu, Japan's main island.
It is a port town, and was once used as the departure point to Hokkaido, by ferry, before the introduction of the Seikan Tunnel, which is now used to connect the two islands by an underwater railway line.
Today, Aomori is best known for it's apples and Nebuta Matsuri held every year at the beginning of August.
